Is it too late to get involved this year? I tried to sign up for a committee right after the rodeo last year and couldn’t find any of the fun committees.
Not sure re: wine garden. I believe there are still committees looking for people though.
Can you help with any resource to know more about this? I am an amateur wine enthusiast and would love to be a part of this!
Go to the HLSR website and read up on the different committees and ways to become involved
I did it a few years ago and can’t imagine doing it as a consultant…you have to work several weekday shifts (had to take off work at 2-3pm to make it there in time) and it consumes basically full weekend days for those shifts. If you’re traveling or even have a local consulting gig, you wouldn’t get the perk of being able to attend 60% of the concerts (weekday) anyway. All to say, ask the right questions before joining because it can be extremely political/toxic and not worth the time invested
A couple of points:
1. Yes you will likely be assigned a couple of weekday shifts but you are able to trade for days that work with your schedule. The total commitment is 5 shifts over the course of the rodeo
2. Yes the weekday shift start early but if you’re job doesn’t give you flexibility to volunteer for charity for a couple of days in a month then I’d say your job is the toxic one
3. Not sure about the politics/toxicity you’re talk about but clearly you did not enjoy it

I might be interested in that. What all does that entail? I really want to get involved in more things in the community but I also have a very busy work schedule so I don't want to commit and then not be able to be there.
