If I already have United silver status (Marriott status match), is it still worth it to get the United explorer card? Up to 70k bonus, $0 intro fee then $95 after (will downgrade after a year to Gateway $0 fee card)

It depends on if you want the miles or not

I’d like to get higher status with United so I should then

Oh no worries! CSR earns UR points and some Amex cards earn MR points.

The fastest/easiest way is fast track program through your company with United. If that's exhausted, then you really just need to fly a lot.

Booking options:
1. Redeem your CSR points for 1.5x value through Chase portal on United
2. Book through United partner but do some math for the PQP cap. This earns the fastest with international biz and prem-econ.
3. (Slowest/expensive) book through United

Spending option:
1. If you do get Explorer, you get $500 PQP for every $12000 you spend on the card.

Non-spending boost:
1. United has been running promotions for elites to requalify for next year so definitely get on those

Also, for a matched status, I believe you need to start from scratch (0 PQP, 0 PQF) to qualify for gold and above, ie you need to spend $6000 on United or partners.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

If there is any senior staff, or member with credible information on this, please share your 2 cents. The suspense is killing me, and I am sure many of you echo my sentiments here.

So far, I have heard:
- March

- June
- July but with salary effective from April (paid as arrears in July). Something similar for June as well.
