Depends on your work load. When the load at my J1 was too much I would work a full day focusing on J1 and then nights I’d focus on J2. For J2 I was plugged into an offshore team so working India Standard time was perfect for them.
When J1 relaxed, then I did some work on J2 during the day. Some weeks I worked 80 hours, others I work 40 between two jobs.
The jobs best suited to over-employment are those where you control your own schedule and admin a system. If alls well with the system you can coast indefinitely. But some semblance of control over your schedule is the key. People get very creative when attending two meetings at once!

I have one employer, but the work I do is supposed to be within a 40 hour work week (Mon-Fri). I can't remember the last time I only worked 40 hours or had an "easy" week. Attrition, retirements, and turnover makes it difficult to do just the job I was hired for.
