If you had a week left to live, would you still go to work?

I wouldn't go to work, but I'd use PTO instead of resign just in case I didn't die after that week 😅

Yes, i would go and ensure I print all forms, sign everywhere and ensure my family is covered. May be half day just to take care of “last minute” things.

May be the last day i will go and die there to ensure whatever possible benefits can be passed on to family (if there are such death benefits).

Maybe fall on my partner / whoever messed with me to give them life long jitters.

In fact OP brought a good point. What I have done is taken a print of all claims forms should anything happen to an employee and kept it in a folder at home. Spouse knows where it is, so its easy to know what is eligible when stuff happens.
Things may change, but keeping your spouse aware is better. My 2 cents

No

Umm. No.

Hell NAW!!!

Probably 1h to say good bye to some great friends and colleagues, not to actually work though lmao

Hell no

Yes but only to setup an elaborate real life "Weekend at Bernie's" contraption to not let down my coworkers and to continue receiving kudos from the client. "Good work xxxx, you really knocked it out during that presentation with your hand gestures. The client couldn't even tell you were nervous with those sun glasses on. Keep up the great work!"

Have you been fired before even starting your new job?

I signed for a new job two months ago and will start next month (3 mo notice period in Europe). They were very keen on getting me on-board ASAP before signing but since I signed the contract it has been silent from the new employee. I've emailed them with questions as I'll be re-locating to NL and it takes them 1-2 weeks to reply. Given all that's going on in the world, I'm worried they might fire me before I even start.
