I wouldn't go to work, but I'd use PTO instead of resign just in case I didn't die after that week 😅
Yes, i would go and ensure I print all forms, sign everywhere and ensure my family is covered. May be half day just to take care of “last minute” things.
May be the last day i will go and die there to ensure whatever possible benefits can be passed on to family (if there are such death benefits).
Maybe fall on my partner / whoever messed with me to give them life long jitters.
In fact OP brought a good point. What I have done is taken a print of all claims forms should anything happen to an employee and kept it in a folder at home. Spouse knows where it is, so its easy to know what is eligible when stuff happens.
Things may change, but keeping your spouse aware is better. My 2 cents
It worries me that someone actually asked this..
Of course I need that high rating for next years promotions. Can’t have the partners think I was a lazy POS before I died.
Ummm ... NO!
This is a joke right?
There are no stupid questions but this...... this is a dumbass question
So...proof that there ARE, in fact, stupid questions!
Lets change this question. What’s the most amount of time you could have left in your life, where you’d still go to work tomorrow? Like if I knew I had a year left I’d quit. If I knew I had 10 years, I’d probably stay a while longer
If you had 10 years you would need to worry about retiring/saving or any long term career goals. I’d quit and become a surf instructor or something like that
I think at that point ghosting is acceptable
Helllllllllllllll no
I have decades left to lIve and I might not go back tomorrow.
Can you provide a referral?
Yes, I would. I work with people who are like family to me. I’d take them all out for steaks and drinks with a lot of laughs all afternoon. Then I’d swing by afterwards to tell a small handful of people to F off to their faces. Because only God forgives, I don’t have to.
Who’s Eric ? Sounds like the guy to know !
I think I'd go to work for one day, if only to reenact key scenes from Office Space. Complete with a dead fish being slapped onto a stack of snapshots, utilization metrics, and proposal decks that never saw the light of day (despite requiring lots of midnight oil)
Of course I would go. Thinking about the incremental value add and impact I would be delivering to my clients could keep me alive for at least an extra day or two, possibly more depending on work-life synergies.
You win. True Consultant.
🤦♂️
I can’t imagine anyone who would go to work.
I will not go to office but will put 40 hours on chargeable code
Work until you get fired. C'mon, time to splurge
Man if I found out I had 10 years to live I still wouldn’t go tomorrow.
Pierre did it...
If I had a week left to live, it would be pretty close to the same attitude about work if I had just won the lottery.
