If you have extra work to do, are you the type to stay at work to finish it, bring the work home to do, or call it quits for the day and work on it tomorrow? I feel like at times it varies for me and I can be a mix of all three

If the work is already in progress or would make the most sense to finish it while you are there. In the long run would save you a trip back and the road time and the customer will appreciate it. It looks better to and the reward alone for getting it done. If it is one more task to do it makes the most sense to me to just stay and get it done

I agree sometimes it’s best to finish the task there rather than leave it for the next day

That depends on the nature of the work. I almost never stay late to work on anything, and I definitely don't take work home. If there's a pressing deadline and something is mission critical, then I'll stay after hours and wrap it up. It seldom happens, and that's partly because I make an effort to ensure things get done during regular hours.

I agree with all your points

I’m the type to get distracted easily, so I’d rather get my work done AT work instead of taking it home to finish up. And I’m always thrown off if I try to start my day mid-task, so I like to finish whatever it is and start my next work day fresh!

Me too! It keeps my mind on track!

I just accepted an offer in writing. The new job will start the background check next which I’ve been told it may take a while to complete. My start date at the new job isn’t until 2023 so there is some time for me to turn in my notice. I don’t anticipate any hiccups in the background check but is it wise to wait until the background check is complete before turning in my notice?

So I say this with complete humility and an understanding that this is a fortunate-ish situation to be in. I’m in a position where I am tied to nothing, I have no children, spouse, or house. My job, which I’ve loved until some recent significant leadership changes, is sucking the life out of me and I think it may be time for a change. Because I am able to “pick up and go” I’m open to opportunities and locations. I’ve never worked with a recruiter but was hoping I could get some recommendations!
