Again a matter of time when she left to join another firm
Pwc1 & 2 are correct. No direct adjustment made, just will revert to the mean thru subsequent raises
From what I've heard no.
@acn4 guessing you're in Strategy which implemented flat salaries based on level and years thru manager. So all C3s make same regardless of other factors (MBA does throw this off to offer competitive salaries but my understanding is the gap is closed at manager). They are extending to SM shortly. Differences in performance are made up in the bonus instead of in the base.
It does. Know someone who had to go through it.
Generally in consulting (the big firms) they don't adjust it down... however, if you're outside the location band you may not get salary raise the following year (at least not to the same degree you would've in NYC)
If not in that year, adjustment will happen for sure in next year
For someone who has always been in a national practice aka flying somewhere, this extreme reliance on 'local wage' pisses me off no end. It's only ever been used to suppress my salary and I've never seen to be used to give a national practice colleague a bump up.
I moved DC to a lower cost city and they didn't adjust me down but I didn't get any raise at all the following year and very small the year after.
Does it work the other way? All ACN offers at my b school were the same, chose to live in high COL city. Will raises be higher to adjust up to location band?
Super helpful, A2. Thanks!
Also for those of you that tranderred, how long did the process take to get it approved. Trying to time my lease ending with the transfer
