I’m a private immigration attorney whose interested into transitioning into a high level federal government attorney position in the future (not in this administration). Ideally, I’d love to work in the solicitor general’s office.

Help- my FBIL is refusing to rent a tux for our wedding because he already owns one. It is a different tuxedo. We would like everyone in the same tux, which I don’t think is crazy to ask for? It’s not a financial issue and it’s not some sort of weird style. 11 other men will be in the rental, it will be obviously different. UPDATE (RE: SoCal Assistant Controller Interview)

So after two weeks of waiting (and giving up on the idea of getting the job really), the recruiter got back to me.

They said due to month-end and quarter-end close they were busy and couldn’t get back to me as quickly for a “good update”.

The recruiter said the CFO enjoyed our call, she, the CFO, will call me next week directly to “discuss some final things”.

Not sure if Im hired or not, but are there any questions about the job, comp (cont.)
