I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

I have received offer from sales force as a analyst planning(same as current profile) , the package is 200%more than what i have now but its a contract job. Don't Submit Your Original Documents and Also Don't Join Because You have many new opportunities as a Fresher in Many MNC 's like Accenture, Ibm, Capgemini, Cognizant and many more. just Go to their career pages and check if There is any role for the freshers, if there Apply and must and should Try to Check atleast Twice in a week.And Focus on Any one Programming language(Python or Java or C++) and try to learn HTML, Css and JavaScript.
For me Targeting MNC and Learning DSA is the best choice
Keeping and submitting original documents is not at all legal. I would strongly suggest don’t submit docs, you will get trapped

Negotiate with them - tell them I am ready to keep the document for 1 year post that you need to return my documents. Make sure to take a written email confirmation.

It also depends upon your qualifications. If you have good DSA, fair cs subject knowledge like OOP, DBMS, networking, architecture then look for other good opportunity. As you have mentioned that they will pay just 8k for 6 months, let me tell you, you can find a lot of small startups who can pay 10k to 12k without any agreement, so please look for other opportunities. In the mean time, I will strongly suggest that give some time to yourself, dedicate 2 or 3 months at least. Practice DSA, study core subjects little bit, build at least 1 or 2 good project. you guys can grab better opportunity.
