I’m a Data Engineer with 8 years of experience. Currently working on GCP with skills in PySpark, SQL, and Python. I also had some experience with Azure earlier.

I recently switched jobs and got an offer of 30 LPA fixed + up to 10% variable in Gurgaon with 2 days WFO. My previous fixed part was 14.5 LPA.

Just wanted to understand how this compares in the current market. Is this considered good, average, or below average for someone with my experience?

New to investment and have saved 50k from my job. Is putting them in ETF strategy till I learn more about investment?

My friend received two job offers for Account Executive roles: a Mid-Market role with Confluent and an Enterprise role with ThoughtSpot. He’s conflicted because Confluent is a more established company, ThoughtSpot is Pre-IPO. Confluent is a lucrative product to sell and has established SDR reps so there’s a good blend of inbound and outbound sales. Thoughtspot is more of a startup culture where most of the sales comes from outbound and it’s a tougher sell.

Thermo Fisher for Data Engineer in AWS and Python and Ameriprise as Lead Developer for Informatica Powercenter. Ameriprise is offering 50k more in my monthly salary than Thermo Fisher. My preference is to join in where I can grow and get a good learning for future career growth. Also, work life balance should be good in the organization.
