I’m an L6 SDM at Amazon but a Meta recruiter sent me an M2 sdm job description. I have all the XP I need from previous job experience but does Meta keep your same level as Amazon? Meaning if I am an L6 at Amazon am I automatically interviewing at M1 or can I jump to an M2?Amazon Facebook (Meta)

I did. I made the jump from government, where I was essentially in house counsel, to a firm that handles employment litigation. It was hard to make the switch. I was very honest about my lack of experience in interviews because I didn't want to mislead anyone. Thankfully, I was lucky enough to find a firm that was willing to take a chance on me but whenever I make a mistake the fact that I'm "experienced" comes up frequently. I haven't yet figured out how to tactfully remind my boss that I'm basically a first year without coming across as combative or defensive so I just take his criticism on the chin and move on.
Yes! Happy to chat. It’s challenging but not impossible. Recently lateraled as a mid level to Big4 LE shop. Thrown right into LE litigation. I’m loving it so far.
