I'm a non-equity partner at a mid-size firm that typically does billable work. I've got a valuable plaintiff's case that's on a contingency fee and will likely be resolving pre-suit. I'm negotiating with my firm as to profit splitting and looking for input on what I should propose. For additional background, this case came in through an EP, but I'm the only partner with experience in this type of law, and the firm would have had to refer it out if I had not taken it. Thanks!

At my firm, you would receive 10% of the net fees that the firm receives from the matter.

I'd ask for 25%, hope to get 20%, and expect 10-15%

I think you also have to consider that they’ll be thinking about what precedent it will set, regardless of your circumstances

Received a job offer. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on a concern I had about it. It's an entry level position, and I don't have much experience. The billables are 2040 a year. For billable hours in civil litigation and insurance defense, is 2040 hours for a 1st year associate on the high end in this field for a small or midsize firm? It seems like most attorneys I know have minimum requirements of around 1800. The compensation is around 80k a year.
