I’m a really good litigator nationally known. However, with that comes good and bad press. I don’t know how much longer I can deal with the lies people tell about me. I don’t even want to do this job any more.

What?

Respectfully, Sweet James is nationally known, that doesn't mean anything other than that you spend a lot on marketing and advertising.

I suggest you go to therapy and also look into holistic approaches such as meditation, change your diet (no sugar, no coffee ideally, nothing that affects your central nervous system), yoga, qui gong. All of this will help you silence the noice and recenter yourself, go inside yourself and don’t mind about anyone’s opinion. Good luck!

To me, the key is don’t read your bad press. Look out for defamation—or have your assistant do it, but reading bad press is just emotionally draining. There’s nothing you can do about it (unless it’s defamatory) and you won’t change anyone’s mind.

Maybe it's time to make a change, or maybe you're going through something temporary. Finding someone to talk to could help you figure it out. If it were me, I would just F the haters and do my thing. But if you actually don't like practicing anymore, then that's ok too. It's ok to love something and be really good at it and then fall out of love with it.

As a legal marketer, it's sometimes hard for me to look at the some of the "wins" of the firm/its attorneys as victories given the context (when civil liberties appear to have been breached, or corporates are screwing over the little man). But after reading a judge's order once on such a case (laborious if you're not an attorney, but doable if you have time and patience), I appreciated the fact that (most) attorneys were there to - at least try - to present the actual facts in an effort to ensure that all sides (well, let's be honest, those who can pay) get a fair review of their situation by, hopefully, a fair judge or jury / judicial system. Yes, I know, it's not always fair and far from perfect. Do I think sometimes the underdogs don't get fair representation? Yes, but then that's where I can contribute towards legal defense programs to help them (which, let's be honest, comes from a job at a firm that litigates for people who have money because I have bills to pay - I have not yet worked, thankfully, for a firm that blatantly tries to screw people over). So if in your conscience you know you are trying to help a person or entity in a society where everyone deserves fair representation, then it doesn't matter what others say because there will always be someone to say something negative in even the best and most clear-cut of situations. If you can live with yourself for the people and causes you are representing, then that's all that matters. Let your PR people, legal marketers, legal assistant, whatever, do the triaging of the press for you to preserve yourself. And if you do have an issue with the causes or people you represent, then an option is to just say no to them and take on other cases more aligned with how you feel (and still let someone else do the press triaging for you to free up your mind for the work to do to help your clients).

Take a break from what you are doing,do something that you love to do for a few months, later if you decide to come back accept only cases that you will have a solid evidence that you could win them, also you are experiencing symptoms of burnt out - there is ño coming back from that,so start planing your future doing something else

High school special class (self-contained) teachers: What do you use for planning? I’ve always been an inclusive teacher, so I followed the plan book of my co-teacher. I can’t even decide if I should go digital or paper-based let alone make a final decision! I’ll be teaching 9-11th grade math and 11th grade science. The 11th grade classes I can very much do whatever I (or the student) want/need…there isn’t a set curriculum
