My bad, here it is https://www.forbes.com/sites/adamminsky/2024/10/08/critical-application-to-pursue-student-loan-forgiveness-is-back-up---key-details/
I really think at this point we just need to accept that this fight is lost and pay the loans. This whole “we are forgiving x student loans” “wait never mind so and so says we can’t” on repeat is getting old. I would love to see them gone but I honestly think they are here to stay, and we need to work not on forgiving the existing loans, but making the system better for future borrowers. Such as capping interest rates. Let them be variable that’s fine, but they should not exceed x% and make that percentage something that is easy to swallow but also covers the cost of the loan. We would not accept a mortgage rate of 8% why should we accept a student loan rate of 10%? I think they should be higher than a mortgage rate as that is a secured loan whereas a student loan is unsecured but they should not exceed 10% or whatever number makes sense.
I am regretting not paying them when they were I deferment during COVID.
