I feel you! Just when I start wrapping my head around AI advancements, quantum computing comes in like, “Hold my qubit.” It’s exciting but overwhelming. I try to follow the big breakthroughs, but keeping up with every detail is a challenge. Did anything in that article stand out to you?

like

Uhh yeah. Wait til you hear about autonomous robots and vehicles. Sure, all of it is in its infancy, but it really won't be too long before AI is smart enough to integrate into autonomous bots, to start doing jobs most people can do. That and dumbing down our own education system will really start the next phase of this class war. Good times ahead for sure. 🫠😭

Worry not, this announcement is basically all hype

Its easy to get overwhelmed with all the AI hype, LLM launches , robotics innovations and Quantum news.

There is no way any one person could even begin to master all of these. So its normal if you are aware of your surroundings and not being sleeping under the rock.

Focus on present and see how you could leverage LLM / AI in your current work. Pick one topic and try to understand it. Do not try to rush or learn everything. Spend next 6 month integrating AI/LLM in your daily work and even personal life. Be more comfortable, learn to make yourself more productive with these new AI tools.

I do not take Meeting notes anymore, let AI do it.
For majority of written task, I let AI take first stab at summarizing things, analyzing things. Explore new features. This cuts down my work and helps me learn on using these new tools. Sure they are evolving fast.

Playing with Grok3 since yesterday, as simple as analyzing some tech and Financial tweets!!

Enjoy your time of being alive during this innovation phase.

I feel you 😔 but how can we manage this though? Any thoughts?

AI is dangerous, the two biggest AI , one of them being Meta is making changes to it's self without human oversight and control. Having computers make decisions on people is absolutely ridiculous and lazy. Computers can't be held liable therefore they have no business making management decisions.

UPDATE (RE: SoCal Assistant Controller Interview)

So after two weeks of waiting (and giving up on the idea of getting the job really), the recruiter got back to me.

They said due to month-end and quarter-end close they were busy and couldn’t get back to me as quickly for a “good update”.

The recruiter said the CFO enjoyed our call, she, the CFO, will call me next week directly to “discuss some final things”.

Not sure if Im hired or not, but are there any questions about the job, comp (cont.)

I've been interviewing with some companies, and now I have to decide between JPMorgan Chase and Globant.

Globant is more innovative, and has remote work. I will enter to work with a Sillicon Valley startup based in San Francisco. The tech stack is React, Nextjs, AWS, and a serverless architecture.

JPM is semi remote, and less innovative. The tech stack Java, SpringBoot and AWS. But I'd do more migration tasks, like dockerize projects and pass them to kubernetes. What would you choose?
