I’m craving a reset so badly that I’ve started browsing roles I would’ve laughed at six months ago like project management, nonprofit ops, program coordination, even education admin. Anything that feels like it has some meaning and isn’t just spreadsheets and CYA emails. I used to be laser-focused on linear growth, and now I just want to feel alive again. Has anyone gone way off the traditional accounting path and actually found success and satisfaction on the other side?

Just wrapped up a deal with a regular client (although the client’s deal teams vary). I’m a Junior and did a lot of the emailing back and forth with the client and with the other side. Is it appropriate for me to add the client deal team members on LinkedIn? What about the lawyers on the other side?

Anyone worked for google as their client and been poached to join Google full time? I know this happens frequently with other clients but want to know if it’s realistic at a big tech company

At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. I believe I'm on track to promotion in the next year. So, I could put in a year of full time school to check the box off, but I'd be sacrificing hobbies and social life (not to mention cost). One of my direct reports has asked about going part time. They currently manage special reports in a bi-weekly publication, working closely with sales, freelance writers, and an internal designer. UPDATE (RE: SoCal Assistant Controller Interview)

So after two weeks of waiting (and giving up on the idea of getting the job really), the recruiter got back to me.

They said due to month-end and quarter-end close they were busy and couldn’t get back to me as quickly for a “good update”.

The recruiter said the CFO enjoyed our call, she, the CFO, will call me next week directly to “discuss some final things”.
