Im curious as to what roles/careers EAs are transitioning to as companies whittle down EAs to CEO/Senior exec mgmt only…I didn’t plan on having to find a new calling but it is beginning to seem inevitable.

Focus on niche EA roles, smaller firms, etc. EAs will always be in demand. It’s the mega corporations that will soon see issues arise when they realize offshoring will lead to greater disorganization & data breaches.

Learn as many software packages as you can….make yourself well versed in company policies and procedures….lean into more accounting…people are always going to have to pay and send invoices, work on events and travel, etc….

You can always find some type of training on YouTube or google….and there is typically someone at most offices who is willing to share their knowledge….yes, you may have to pay for some courses, but it is an investment in your future!

I’m hoping that once I finish my MBA I’ll be able to transition into consulting or a finance role. I didn’t anticipate AI throwing a wrench in this plan so we’ll see how it goes.

Truth be told I have never been through onboarding via remote. It’s a bit of a struggle. It’s taking forever to get access to certain resources and my assigned mentor is always underwater. How is everyone dealing with this? My manager seems hard to please in our first couple 1:1s.

I'm a software engineer, and I've been working remotely for my entire career. I love the flexibility and autonomy that remote work gives me, but there have definitely been times when it's been hard to feel like I'm on an even playing field with my colleagues in the office.

Need some feedback! So I was forced to move jobs about 6 months ago due to reorg and the new leader opting to bring their existing EA with them, without even meeting me. If stayed at the company but accepted an offer for a job outside of the department I was in. I’ve now been asked by a manager from my old department to apply for a job they’re opening that would be a 2 step promotion. She thought she got my managers permission to approach me (see comments)

Do you find working remotely during this time that you’re having a harder time staying on top of everything that’s going on? With the scattered communication and a boss who hasn’t been as focused and can be hard to pin down, I sometimes think I’m giving 150% but something ends up lagging and I’m just wiped out. Hi Everyone, I’m looking for advice. Right now I’m currently facing a hard decision. I’ve been at my work for 5 months as an HR assistant and have been given the opportunity to take on the Executive Assistant role. I’m in my early 20’s and still unsure what career path I want to take. I know I want to keep moving up and doing more but again, not sure where I want to be. I’d appreciate your thoughts and advice from your experiences along with pros/cons on either position. Anything would help!
