I’m currently averaging $140k total comp in Chicago, but a recruiter just reached out about a role in Miami for the exact same money. On paper, moving away from Illinois winters sounds like a dream, but I know Miami’s housing market has gone completely nuts over the last few years. I’m worried that making $140k in Florida will actually feel like a massive pay cut compared to the lifestyle I have right now in the Midwest. What is the minimum OTE needed to actually survive there?
