Hi Folks,
Need opinions from experienced Management consulting folks:
Is it a wise decision to leave Deloitte USI Strategy practice for Accenture strategy in Capability Network when I am due for promotion to Engagement Manager?
I am getting 40% hike from Accenture CN when my promotional hike in Deloitte is expected from 25% to 30% (my guess).
What should I do? Renegotiate / Stay / Switch.

Got a 760 on my GMAT so I'll highlight some important points that helped me:
1. Sentence correction is a struggle for most Indians. The Manhattan SC guide (many editions available online) should be your Bible.
2. For CR and RC, the Official GMAT guide should be fine.
3. For quant, familiarise yourself with Data Sufficiency type questions and look for question banks apart from the OG (too easy).
4. Stay consistent with your prep- an hour every day matters more than devoting only entire weekends.
5. I used Official mocks (spot on for actual GMAT score) and Manhattan mocks. Don't take Manhattan mock scores to heart, they are quite tough but give you a good analysis of your weak areas. As you advance in your prep, allocate more time to weaker areas but stay in touch with the strong areas too.
6. Learn about the GMAT algorithm in detail. The first 10 questions are more important than the last 10. You get penalized for answering easy questions incorrectly. Making consecutive errors is also penalized. So make sure you go right through till the end of the paper so you don't miss out on attempting the easy ones.

For verbal use Manhattan. For quant a mix of all available material would do. It all depends on the practice. But verbal is where you will find it difficult so start with Manhattan .
Well you get 2 practice exams with GMAT official software so I used that before the main exam. For books I generally downloaded from the internet and bought the latest version of the offical GMAT book( I forgot the name since I gave GMAT around 3 years ago). Use Manhattan material and the GMAT guide it should be enough. Manhattan has their official website you can check out material there.
I’m thinking of starting my GMAT preparations too but I’m simply not motivated enough!

I slowly started reading, accumulating all the materials , spent time on creating a plan, and trying to stick to it. Plan could be on how to split your day with work, fitness (:p), and other activities you generally do. While doing this I realised, apart from work I hardly do anything else, except for binging shows all day. And this added on to the guilt of wasting quality time (wfh is a curse and a boon) which could’ve been utilised better. With that guilt, I actually could manage to get in the groove of studying or doing something productive apart from work.
