I’d lean toward the offer with better benefits, especially if the healthcare and retirement options are strong. Over time, those benefits can save you a lot of money and provide long-term security.
Honestly, I’d go with the higher salary. You can always use that extra money to invest in your own healthcare and retirement options. Sure, benefits are nice, but a lot of times, you can get similar options privately. I prefer having the flexibility that comes with a higher paycheck, and then I can decide how to allocate my funds, whether it’s insurance or savings. More control over your money!
That’s not a big salary difference. If benefits are better consider what that value is. Sometimes the paycheck isn’t always the way to go. Consider commute costs, travel time, your mental health and which job fits better with your lifestyle and family.
