What size AT do you have? The 41 or the 38? And do you wear it on the rubber or the bracelet? That’ll determine whether or not the option you choose has too much overlap.
Either way, the OP39 with White Dial is amazing. And a DJ36 with fluted bezel and jubilee will always be a stunning classic. I have both and I can’t imagine either leaving my collection any time soon.

DJ is the little flashier of the two. I personally have the OP39 in white which D1 suggested, it is absolutely stunning. And it will set you apart from a sea of DJs.

I also have a DJ36 with smooth bezel and oyster bracelet. If the OP has an AT41 on bracelet, it’ll look very close to a DJ41 with smooth bezel and oyster. Perhaps flashier is what they’re after; all they said was they were worried a DJ/OP wouldn’t be different enough.
And if the OP has an AT38, they likely have a smaller wrist, so an OP39 would feel quite large. They could get an OP36, but the DJ36 is a much better option at that size due to its timelessness and additional features (date and Easylink).
The OP39 White Dial is definitely the most versatile of all though, perhaps second only to an Explorer 1.

Thanks for these thoughtful responses. I have an AT41 blue dial on blue leather although currently it’s on NATO for the summer. An OP39 feels like it overlaps more with the AT41 than the DJ36/41 on a jubilee.
What are the thoughts on white vs silver?

1. OP39 with White Dial is a near perfect watch (it’s even closer if you can get an Easylink for the clasp)
2. I prefer a silver dial DJ36 over the white dial option of either the DJ36 or DJ41. The white dial DJs are a glossy white; they don’t have the same chameleon treatment that the OP39 white has. They are two different “whites”.
