Live as close to your office as possible. Traffic in Miami can be horrendous
Go to Midtown, or Downtown. Brickell is too crowded.
Agree with downtown, and less expensive. West side of Brickell is developing and has some new buildings. Also Panorama is beautiful but is about $3,600 a month on a 2 year lease (not sure what is your budget).
My suggestion would definitely be downtown depending on what you are looking for but it would be a lot moe cost efficient and still a really good location.
You do not mention where your office is. I have lived Downtown, Midtown and the Beach. Here is my breakdown: Downtown has gotten pretty crowded and noisy however you have the Metro you can take to Brickell (if your office is there). The Whole Foods is right there in Downtown which is super convenient you also have access to a CVS pharmacy. Brickell is nice as well a friend of mine lives there and is able to walk to work. Traffic in both neighborhoods is wild. Miami physically does not have a lot of space to expand their roads. Now getting to the Beach. If you have to commute to work from the Beach you are adding 45 mins to your commute at minimum. Both morning and evening. Again traffic is pretty bad in Miami for why I stated earlier. You will be walkable to lots of things on the Beach but if anything requires you to go off the island it is a bear. And yes the bus system works to take you from the beach to the mainland but your commute regardless if by car or bus will be the same. Frankly I would suggest midtown. You have a Target, Trader Joes, Publix and the design district within walking distance. Traffic is still bad though lol. All 3 neighborhoods have nightlight too so you will not be necessarily missing out. My biggest suggestion would be to rent an Airbnb or hotel in each location and stay during the week. Go to the grocery store, walk around the neighborhood (and yes even at night because you need to see what it out at night). And see how you feel about the neighborhood. Also there is a lot of homeless Downtown and Brickell. Midtown has some but not as much as DT/Brickell. SOBE has some but not as many. Hope this helps
