Learn about enterprise structures, coa design, ledger configurations, allocations, translation, and consolidation. Hyperion is great to have from a reporting standpoint but you will want to get an understanding of the core configurations as well
Yeah Hyperion is super valuable for RTR work, especially if you’ve got some hands-on experience with Essbase + FRS. I’ve had a few clients try to build out GL reports from Fusion’s transactional DB and obviously they’ve come across terrible performance and lack of formatting (they didn’t know Essbase + FRS is a feature of Fusion). Are you moving into ERP or are you going to be focused on both ERP and EPM cloud?
Thanks for your answer. Yes I was staffed in a few reporting projects but don't have fully understanding of accounting and ERP so don't really know what I was doing is RTR or something else lol I want to move to ERP but what other things I need to be a good RTR resources?
Learn the application first and foremost, how does GL work end to end, this will also help in building reports. Then you should know the oracle tables like the back of your hand. FRS is good for balances and doing that type of work, but a lot of the heavy duty reporting comes from the transactional bits, so understand that process and then where that information is stored. RTR is conceptually one of the easiest to understand from a non-functional background. Essbase/Hyperion is useful, as you’ll understand the hierarchy structures and roll ups.
