How is PwC India’s forensics practice?
I have 12+ yoe. I work in AWS with a 23L base, 13L JB and 5 RSU (29.8L ), L4. I am about to receive an offer from ADP . What band/grade would be great to negotiate. For ADP anything around 45L-48L including 12% variable (not sure about JB) is considered to be the right offer? I have another offer from Accenture 32L fixed, 10L variable, 6.4L JB. I guess wlb in Accenture would be more difficult than ADB?? What's your view fishes !!! Consider AWS and ADP in Hyderabad where Accenture in home town

SOX isn't enough. If you have experience with SOC reports it'll be even better. It's pretty hard to get a transfer into cyber without a lot of technical experience or tons of networking. I know people who have tried and tried and no transfer given. It's one part that you have to have the specialized skills, one part that it's a small practice, one part that there just isn't enough work and one part that the work isn't recurring for cyber jobs as it is on a SOX project
It's pretty specialized as I know. You can't get in unless you have a security background
^same, hard to get into since it's a small national sub LoS.
It depends what side of cyber- RA or advisory? RA side will see a lot of controls testing, albeit more technical controls.
RA. There are openings in RA and I already have SOX testing down, so I thought it would be a natural segue.
Cyber, ARCA and ESS are national teams that require lot of technical knowledge. Someone in PA or IA doesn't have that knowledge unless you have specifically majored in them. I know some markets which transfer people from PA/IA to those national teams, but it's messed up.
Interesting. Yes, I work on SOX engagements and SOC 1s. My experience with ARCA has been that I am at least as technical as they are, even though I didn't major in IS, but I appreciate the perspective and I won't hold my breath on a transfer.
Doing this variety can also affect you when it comes to your promotion. You report to different teams/service lines for each engagement. It's true you get to try different things but when making senior/manager, you going to be assigned to one LoS. They are not going to share you between teams. Basically, you won't be having sufficient in depth experience in any of the LoS. PA will say you have done 2-3 engagements and cannot make it to senior there and ARCA will say the same and cyber too.
If you're really interested in cyber, try applying to another firm. Might be easier to get in.
There just isn't enough work - aon bought their own firm, a lot of cyber is covered by insurance, it's a mess to break in and just as hard to stay afloat
Go take the CISSP and show them you mean business. After you pass that they know you can easily get interviews at other big4s cyber groups.
