EY OP - My rent is $490 (sharing an apartment right now), so I know it's not going toward equity, but I'm ok with it because I'm saving for down payments (house and car). I'd rather pay a higher down payment so my monthly mortgage + (annual property tax/12 month) + HOA (if applicable) is about $1500/mo.
Get out of risk and join a more specialized area or jump firms. You’re actually getting paid avg for RAP
That’s noted D1! I think it might be hard for me to internally transfer to PI at EY, so I might try to reach out to other firms in October after my senior promotion. Do you know if there’s any certification(s) I should try to obtain to better my chances before then? I currently don’t have anything but an MSA.
Look at what you can cut from your finances. Meal prep. Go running instead of getting a gym membership. Don't shop at Whole Foods. Borrow/swipe all log in credentials for streaming.
Thank you for your advice. I already meal prep, but I need the gym for it’s equipment and my membership is reimbursed by the firm anyways. I don’t shop at Whole Foods lol and use my families log in for streaming.
+1 get out of risk. Also you're making plenty of money if you're in your 20s.
I guess you’re right. I’m 25 and make more than my friends. However, due to rent and all my other expenses, I don’t have a lot of money to save each month. Also, I work 60+hours/week which totally suck. I sometimes wish we got paid overtime ☹️
