I was in the same boat OP and D2. But ... the “US’s most successful” Cannabis company just reached out to me for a Strategy role — giving the moniker “corporate strategy is way more chill than consulting” a whole new meaning 😌👌🏼

They reached out to me as well lol
It’s the market. I got pinged 2-3 times per month up until COVID happened. Have only had 1 recruiter reach out to me since.
Don’t have any tips aside from getting a second or third opinion on your resume and networking with D or undergrad/grad school alums at your target companies. Seems like most places are on freezes unfortunately
I’m an MBBer (consultant level) and dinged left and right as well. From my experience it’s the sheer numbers applying for each role
Thanks for your heartwarming responses..I was so down today that I couldnt even operate. D3, your response and attitude was golden. Your "US most successful cannabis" company opportunity made my day!🤣🙏

Dank times call for dank measures
I moved to tech as a director (though a different market - 3 years ago)... find the “consulting roles” in tech companies, and ideally leverage a referral. But consulting roles I mean customer success manager, Salesforce’s Ignite team, internal consulting groups... makes the transition make more sense in the minds of the recruiters. Once you’re in, transition to a strategy and ops role after a year or so.
Not saying this is a slam dunk, but may be easier.
Unfortunately, things are a bit frozen right now where I am (not officially, but unofficially). Check out smaller tech companies like Twilio - they are legit hiring like mad right now.
OP I’m with you too. I’ve been applying for a month but still zero interview... so disheartened/burnt out :/
- Are you tailoring your resume to the posting?
- What level are the roles you are applying for? Are they the same, one above, two above?
- Why did the promo get screwed twice?
