Advice needed - boyfriend has almost 3.5 years of finance experience at a bank. Interviewed for PwC valuation senior associate and now recruiter says they want to hire him at “experienced associate” because he has no valuation experience. Is this too big of a step backwards in career? Should he push back and see if it gets him anywhere? If he does accept Associate, is it reasonable to ask for written, definitive timeline (1 year?) for promo to Senior upon meeting standards? Help!

Do two weeks for formality so that you don’t burn any bridges. You’ll need future references for your career.
It isn’t worth it. Should’ve thought about that sooner

My dilemma is, if I give 2 weeks notice, they’ll probably let me go before the week off, instead of paying me for the weeklong break.
Not sure what firm you’re at but I can tell you that when people are let go, they get severance, which is a form of notice

I'm in a similar boat. I just signed my offer for a new role starting that same day. I'm notifying my boss today (tried yesterday but he didn't reply back to my message for a chat). I'm running a bit of a risk that I won't get paid for a week or so if he loses his mind but I also have key leverage (I am the company admin/payroll/systems/etc) in my favor. I put together a transition plan to offer and ultimately it's up to him. I am in a financial position that if does lose it and terms me early then I'll be ok. I don't think the new role would move my start date up but I could always offer it if that happened.
