This is a tough market right now. I KNOW I've had more luck than a lot of people. I was finally offered a position yesterday. I was laid off in November. I have never gone this long without a job. Never. I focused on jobs in my city and in person. You're more likely to grab an interview with those positions. Reach out on LinkedIn. Once I started doing that, I received more movement. Use your network. Check governmentjobs.com ... a lot of people forget their local government needs to hire, and these positions are solid. If you live near any schools, look at school districts, community colleges, universities, private and public, and charter schools. Check the UHaul in your area. They are always hiring for administrative functions. I'm not sure what their pay scale is like.
Best of luck to you! It's an awful process. Take a day off at least once a week and do nothing that relates to job searching. It WILL happen.
Yes!!! And then having to figure out if it's a fraudulent company or person on top of that!!! Ugh!!!
Girl same 😭 it’s been a year of searching for employment, lowering my standards and having to apply at almost anywhere.
Don’t forget about temp agencies. They are a great way to get your foot in the door, and if you’re a hard worker and do a great job, more often than not they will offer you a permanent position. A lot of companies want to “test drive” administrative employees before hiring, so temp to perm positions are a way for you to show off your potential for 90 days or more.
I’m trying to get away from my temp job into an entirely new avenue lol
Same ;’(
I been having the same problem for years..that’s why I became a bus driver bc I couldn’t find a job in the office industry
I completely agree! I am so sorry that you are having this experience. I have applied nonstop and even had a few interviews. The interviewers always say they will be in touch and then I either don’t have a response or my recruiter lets me know that they have chosen a different candidate.
I can agree with you on this one. I've worked hard my whole life and since October I have had hell finding a job. I have an interview Monday morning and I am very hopeful that I get the job
