Buying a house, if we don’t put 20% down we’ll pay PMI - I was working on backfilling mine and my spouse’s Roth IRAs for 2020 before the deadline of May 17 - have like $2000 to go. Should I put the $2k toward my down payment and get as close to 20% as possible to reduce PMI or should I put it in my Roth IRA still? We know PMI is bad, but we aren’t selling our current house, keeping it as a rental, so it makes sense for our plans and we plan to hammer down the loan with extra payments to drop it

Is getting a job in accounting for the management company of many funds a “dead end”? I know it’s a good job with good pay, but would I be “pigeon-holing” myself taking that job?

Question for the group: right now I’m actively looking for a home with my agent. If I happen to find a home on my own (without his help), should I bring him in (maybe for paper work if it’s hard) or exclude him? Haven’t signed anything with him so more like good faith vs getting stuck.

In an upward trajectory after getting over a bad breakup last year. I’m in an excellent place by all accounts, soaring professionally, and got an excellent job lined up as the next step. Even though I started dating again, I have zero motivation to commit. The mental peace that I’ve gained is so great, I’d rather be alone and just focus on me.

Do you have/use your personal desktop/laptop? My laptop is old and slow, and I am pondering whether I should get a new desktop for personal use. Most of my time is on work laptop and I'm not sure I'll spend much time on my new pc, should I get one. On the other hand, it feels annoying with work laptop that the data is controlled while I want to save personal data there from time to time.

Does anyone know if you could file a non-automatic and an automatic change on the same 3115? I have a situation where a non-automatic change needs to be filed to move items from building to 5 and 15 year property as a result of a cost seg. Also want to do the automatic change from 40 to 30 years ADS for Residential Real Property under 163j. Missed the deadline to file the non-automatic in 2020 and doesn’t make sense to do the 40 to 30 change first.

How are other districts compensating you for working over your contracted time? I’m not taking just over. I’m taking about 13+ hour work days, every day.
