I was hired to manage the maintenance program, only to get here and physically do the work. 2 years later and being on-call daily but still expected to burn both ends of the candle and it does seem good enough for the corporate leadership. Collapsed this past Thursday at work and rushed off to the hospital only to find out that it was a stress induced panic attack. Come back to work on Monday only to find that my work load was added to. What will it take?

I feel burnt out by how ruthless the tech industry in US is, but I also know I’m making much more money than people outside of tech or consulting.

Hi all, was hoping for clarity on offers from FANG/Tier 2 tech I received recently. Base pay is still within range of 130-150K, but equity components have dropped dramatically. For reference, for similar positions, I was receiving grants of 150K - 200K over 4 years for data analyst positions (4-5 YOE) in Aug’21-Feb’22. For personal reasons, I did not accept these offers. Now the equity grants are coming in like 50-70K over 4 years. Is this market wide for non SWE/PM roles due to stock market?

What are your thoughts on the Scrum Master role? I’ve worked with a few now and out of 5 of them, only 1 seemed to be of any help. Resigned from my job for blatant racism last week. Been a contingent worker for 6 months. The manager that recruited me unfortunately left after a couple weeks and went to another company. She however recommended me for the permanent opportunity to higher management. The acting manager came in, permanent role was posted, I applied, interviewed……manager told me they chose someone else external for the role. I could sense the manager had no intentions to hire me permanently
