I’m not sure I agree. Most folks I know write their own posts and use ChatGPT as an editor, not a replacement. I don’t really see the problem with that. Curious if this is more about being anti-AI in general?
Your “point” was a hilarious own goal, EP1
If someone can’t be bothered to write, why should any of us bother to engage with it?
How’s Sam Altman’s boot taste?
I’ve never used ChatGPT to write, or even edit, anything. Seems ridiculous that those of us in the comm biz have such low confidence in our own abilities. No wonder advertising is dying.
Brains are dying too
The more we use ai for research and iteration, the more we start writing in the same style that ai synthesizes information because we are influenced by the things that we read regularly.
To limit the process of turning into a machine, unfollowing and disconnecting from people who use ai heavily in their social media might be a good way of stemming the bleeding.
They are still my thoughts and ideas. Gen AI is a tool not a replacement. I am happy that it can take the best parts of my ideas and write them so exact and to the point for maximum success. Others who are being sloppy and having AI think for them and write content won’t get the engagement.
The phrase “take the best parts of my ideas and write them so exact and to the point for maximum success” is either AI or proof that you should use it even more often. Oof
We should refrain from using AI. It is horrible for the environment! Not to mention brain cells.
Same can be said about using social media apps. But here we are.

I guess if it’s taking our jobs it’s fitting that it also networks on LinkedIn
Yes. The dramatic "pauses" and hard returns. This is how Gen Z thinks --their words are so important that they have to be delivered like a State of the Union address. 🙄
Hahahaha. Nailed it.
I use ChatGPT mostly to assist with coding logic and syntax, but I don't see it replacing me for feasibility analyses or contextual refinement anytime soon. For email editing, I've been told to use less energy-intensive (supposedly) platforms like Perplexity or Gemini. I still prefer ChatGPT for its tonal suggestions, but I make the last call at the end of the day. And, yes, this post is fully human-made, no AI assistance used. 🙂
Totally agree! I see so many. It’s like inflation- they pump LinkedIn full of gpt thought-leadership pieces that deflate the value of written posts.

I suppose you don't have to read them...

That’s not good product design though. The user shouldn’t see that content if they don’t want to. We have the technology - it’s how personalized ads work.
What gave it away that they’re AI written?
Agreed! I have been replaced by AI as a Storyboard Artist, Illustrator and Voice Actor. On all the sites I try to find work the posts are basically fishing to get paid memberships before applying for positions. Where have all the real creative people gone?
Give me a damn job before I pay you to get me a job!
I mean, it’s far from unique to LinkedIn. It’s literally everywhere—web copy, restaurant menu copy, billboards, it’s all the same slop. Even the item descriptions on DoorDash for a lot of places are clearly genAI.
