The best answers will still reflect on you positively as an employee. “I enjoy my work and I have a great relationship with my manager, but my current employer isn’t doing well enough to give me the upward mobility I seek”
Wordsmith as you’d like, but make sure your overall position on working with a team is positive
Before you answer, as them to clarify what they are looking for. That way you can have a better idea of what is important to the interviewer.
I usually do ask in that phone screen with the recruiter what qualities they are looking for and I use that as a base for all my answers.
As much as possible, keep it a minor challenge where you say that it has led you to be more self-aware. I recently had an interview where this was asked. I said that I had a tendency fo say yes too much, which has led me to overcommit. Then give one example of this context. Always then mention how you are more self-aware enough to be working on your weaknesses.
That’s a great answer tied with giving an example of how you’re working on getting better
It's always hard to describe your strengths and weaknesses to a potential employer.
