Inflation ranting… Charles Tyrwhitt used to have 3 for $100 shirt deals… now it’s 4 for $200…. What’s your example?

Chipotle order for two the other day (2 burritos, no sides but guac and queso as addons) and it came out to $50.

That’s not inflation, that’s lack of competition. CT’s biggest competitor was TM Lewin, but they got bought out by a PE firm that significantly lowered fabric quality and raised prices. CT, has maintained quality, though style is still behind the old TM Lewin, but has followed suit with TM’s price increases.

Most of the inflation narrative is nonsense when it fact it is simple combination of supply chain, lack of competitive markets, corporate price grouging, microeconomic pricing optimisation, and finally increasing private debt leveraged business models.

Almost none of these are examples of inflation but of price gouging. Maybe let’s stop blaming the government and start blaming greedy corporations?

likesmart

funny you first say blame greedy, corporations, and the greedy corporations have to pay for your amazing income bracket, and by your own theory, with price gouging

On the merits - inflation sticks because we have people accepting and paying the new Kroger prices. If it were gouging, you would find merchants trying to undercut Kroger and they’ll wipe out Kroger’s sales so that Kroger gets a lesson

Renting an 800sqft 1 bedroom + den/office used to be around $800 CAD / month. Now you get less space (~650sqft 1 bedroom, no den or office) but pay 2-3x ($1600-$2400 CAD / month) the price. Society is basically tell me to wither away under a bridge at this point.

I couldn’t leave the airport in Colombia last week. The truck drivers were blocking the roads over $2.33 a gallon diesel fuel. The world got hit with inflation. The world economy is slowing down. And we’re on auto pilot at the moment. Everyone remain calm.

Hey everyone! I’m struggling to decide whether I should pursue a full time MBA or a Part Time MBA. Truly, what scares me about a full time one is the fact that I won’t work for two years. I know it’s a big investment and I’ll be rewarded for ir later on, but the thought of it still scares me. I would love to get someone’s thoughts on this! Is the experience very different? Will I be exhausted if I do the part time? Is there something I’m not considering when it comes to the Full Time?
