Don’t be petty
Mannnn get off your high horse and goddamn help someone.
Please decline. The audacity of this analyst. No. Decline so they can find somebody who isn’t ridiculous
Please just stop...remember that he/she is just human. This is not a life or death mistake, it happens give them a break.
Do you have a last names that sounds a lot like a first name? I had a parter come up and introduce himself to me when I was new and he said, I know first and last all sounds the same I get that a lot but easy way to remember me either way... welcome. No ego, no BS and he’s a partner who could have had an attitude like you and not be as successful or liked as much as he is in our office.
Could be a cultural thing? Ive quite often had Indian people address me by my last name. I think it's fairly common to address someone by their family/sur name in india but I'm the US it is very informal to do so without, somewhat ironically, title (Mr,Mrs,Ms)
In the analysts defense, it was probably unintentional and might have been a honest mistake. Cut them some slack.
I suggest you get over yourself.
Definitely not intentional. It might be because of how your name shows on outlook. Most of the time outlook shows your last name first!
Maybe get a better, more distinctive last name?
Boy (or girl), get over yourself *rolls eyes lol
Seriously, OP.. if that’s the kind of problems you have in life, you have it pretty good! I don’t think the poor analyst will get anything useful from your mentorship. If you do talk to him, please DO NOT teach him your attitude!
OP totally has a first name for a last name.
Just mention in the response. But do help them. If they still don’t spell it right - you can tell them
It’s not that they didn’t spell it right, they reversed my first and last names. I’d be OK with a typo, but this I feel is worse
Do the right thing
First of all, if they had stalked you on LinkedIn as part of their interview research, they would have figured out your name. Poor follow through. Reject
