I wouldn't be worried. Lots of companies interview for same position, but choose multiple candidates- especially, if they're trying to build that practice or competency. And worse case scenario, the other person got the job. Your skill set is in crazy demand! So what's for you is for you! Good luck!
Very true. Just a bit worried since he got an offer so quickly, and interviewed at the same time/location as me. Appreciate the confidence booster though. Thanks :)
Our interview days are not like a competition between the candidates directly. Each person is decided yes or no individually.
It could be that you didn’t get an offer, or that they want you to interview with another person before they decide, or that they simply haven’t had time to call you yet.
I will say though, the decision above is typically made within an hour of your last interview.
I participate in a lot of the campus, experiences hire, and out of cycle hiring interviews. Trust me, the most inefficient part of Deloitte is our HR/Talent group. It’s a complete mixed bag on who, how, when, etc they get back to you. Even if you are moving to the next stage. Hell, my own experience on being hired 6 years ago took nearly 8 months because HR actually lost my file, two people went on maternity leave, one went on vacation, etc. It wasn’t until I actually said something to my last interviewer that a partner got involved to shut it down.
Just be patient
The recruiter as in the HR person or one of the ones who interviewed you? If you were interviewed by and SM or higher then drop them an email to thank and ask what the next step would be. If it’s HR then give them a business day.
Even though it's only been a day after the interview... should I be worried if someone else, who interviewed for the same position... already got an offer?
