I've cleared two rounds and now the Hyd manager is telling me that if I move to Hyd otherwise they will not proceed with my application any further. Can anyone suggest to me what can be done here?

Lololol, Seattle EY office is a joke...Can attest since I worked at that shithole once upon a time
What’s your question? I’m in that role
Was asked to interview with Seattle partner. He said his team has only 4 people and he was looking for someone who can do non-client work (making dashboards using IT tools). I told him I have always wanted to be client facing and that’s my passion though I have good experience in technology. HR sends a reject the next day. The job description and my previous interviewers never talked about an IT development role or non client facing work. I feel cheated in a way because this partner was looking for something that the job description never mentioned. All I could have done is talk to him on day one instead of talking to 8 other people before him over a 2 month period.
I'm really sorry this happened to you. Hopefully it turns out to be a blessing in disguise. Good luck and keep your chin up!
I know exactly who you're talking about, OP. Unfortunately, that is what the practice would need from a Seattle-based resource. Not sure why you couldn't have been client facing in Chicago, though.
Have you called the HR rep back? Say you will take Chicago...sound like a misunderstanding.
All through, all the interviewers seemed confused about the role they were interviewing me for.
Our hr dept is pretty sorry,
It's alright OP. The, the Seattle EY office is where consultants go to die...It's as all Risk/IT Audit there
P1 I wish I had this conversation with you earlier. Would have chosen Chicago.
I feel you OP, and sorry the sandbagged you like that. Loved the Chicago office too
EY2! The Seattle partner was available to interview after 2 weeks and the Chicago partner was available to interview right after the convo with HR. I guess they filled the slot in Chicago in that time frame. Also, the HR said she did not have any open positions in Seattle as they had recently filled it. I’m not sure why she still went ahead with the Seattle interview. Also, the Seattle partner did not show up to my interview and kept me waiting. They had to reschedule it again when I brought it to their notice. Very unprofessional.
EY3 I sent her an email and she never got back. I told I have family in Seattle and she said she doesn’t want someone to ask for a transfer after joining the firm. I told her location is secondary to me and Chicago works perfectly fine as well.
P.S. She talked about salary, start dates, and offer in early December and I was literally making plans to be back closer to my family after 7 years in Seattle in the new year. And then she sent the reject right before the holidays. My girlfriend however got into EY in a different role.
Sorry to hear OP. They did something pretty similar to me. They made me interview with an entire group I wasn’t interested in even after being frank with the HR about it, and then again interview with the team I wanted to work with, and then interview with a partner, and finally gave a low ball offer! I felt like I wasted too much time for nothing.
P.S. I had spoken with two partners in the firm already.
NYC would have set you up for success. PM function is huge in NYC. Little to none in Seattle
Chicago is another great PM function base
PM is definitely hiring in our major locations
Now you can go to Seattle with the job. Seems like Seattle was more imp. Is your gf in Seattle too?
