I feel like I can really depend on the intensity of the caseload. I'm a social worker for individuals with very intense behavioral and a medical needs and my case load typically is around 13 people. Anything more than that and I feel like I wouldn't be able to adequately meet their needs.
What about you? Do you feel as though this case load is too light? Too heavy? Are you able to make time to meet the needs of everyone on your caseload or schedule meetings? Some of the community mental health workers that are in my care teams have very large caseloads but don't have the time or resources really to tackle all of them. Honestly, it really does just depend on who is in your caseload.
I was thinking it’s too heavy but I’ve never actually had this big of a caseload. It was for a new job but I didn’t end up taking the offer.
Full-time therapists at the practice where I work are required to accomplish 21 sessions each week. I aim to arrange 25-27 days in advance to cater for cancellations and no-shows. I think this is pretty standard.
I usually carry the same amt, 15 - 20. If it gets higher than that, I love the pay but I suffer in all other areas of my personal life which trickles down to work at the end of the day, literally.
Yeah I know what you mean.
At the agency I work at, I currently have up to 34. I once had up to 43 at one time. It was and still is way too much.
