How much stock do you put on benefits? I have two offers with stark differences in benefits. Job 1: role I want, but benefit sucks (2 weeks paternity leave, 20% coinsurance). Job 2: role is okay but higher level and great benefits (16 weeks paternity, 0% coinsurance, 5 more days of vacation). Total comp is the same though. I wonder if I should just focus on role but Job 2 is a large company, so I can move around after 2-3 years I’d expect. Thoughts?

Hi Fishes, I cleared an AVP role in JP, Hyderabad. I'm currently at 22 LPA and JP is offering a 45% on this. I have 17 years of experience and 13 years association with Deloitte. 6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. Have you ever dealt with a colleague that believes in extremely (in my opinion) outdated or even just false claims and treats them as scientific facts? I work with several older men but one of them practices "provocative therapy" as in you just play the devil's advocate with your patient and side with the negative half of their thinking. In theory I could see this working situationally, but as a whole philosophy regardless of the patient's issue I think it's ridiculous.

LCSW 50k loan repayment- Has anyone been granted a contract through the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program? I’m interested in applying for the 2 years of full time work as an LCSW but my loans are a bit under 50k so I’m wondering if they would only give me what I need to clear my loans or would I still get 50k as long as I complete my contract ?

Mine is my family still believes that only "sick" or unhappy people need to see a therapist, so they don't understand why I go to one since I have a job and a family. It's oldschool thinking and pretty annoying tbh.

I accepted a job at a oncology outpatient clinic last week! What can I expect?

How do you deal with imposter syndrome? I'm a new therapist and I work with a bunch of women who have been doing this for ages. They're all really sweet, but I can't help feeling like I'm way out of my league. I mostly see younger clients which I guess works in my favor, but I just feel like I'm totally incompetent compared to the women I work with.

Since we're headed towards cold weather and the holiday season, let's talk about how we can take care of ourselves during the fall/winter and beyond. For example, I'm buying a sun lamp because it's about to be 50 degrees and raining for 6 months 🤦🏻‍♀️.

What are some things that are helping you avoid burnout recently? I've been spending a lot more time outside, blocking off my schedule more consistently, and even taking extra days off. Slowly I'm starting to feel more like myself!
