I just started with a company as an HR Generalist. Within the 3 weeks of being there, my boss’s boss left, and today I found out my boss gave notice. HR is not valued at the company and it’s disheartening to know I was hired into a mess. Pretty sure the saga of the slave driven company has come to an end I’m the only HR person at this company. Friday I had full admin rights, and went to check email Saturday; account locked. Payroll/HRIS locked out. PEO service says no pending termination is on my file. Went to the office today to get my things just in case. Located in CA. Was about to report numerous violations too. All because I couldn’t solve 8 months of payroll issues in a day. 🫠 Good riddance, I’m getting a lawyer.

Hello! Will be receiving a $400 stipend from my new org for office setup. I currently have a 15” 2015 Pro, my husband has a Lenovo, I’ll be provided with a work laptop, we have a used office desk.

Is this legal? My spouses company just decided to change their comp structure for account managers. It was base + comm, now it’s commission only but nothing changed, OT commission is the same, didn’t get more points, just took away the base pay and said work harder basically. So now they have to worker harder to get $50k they were already making. (Not a decision based on employee performance, they’ve been crushing it. I think the company is just trying to save money they overspent else where)

Any advice for someone looking to transition into a full HR Generalist role from Recruiting. I’m currently a Campus Recruiter with about 5 years of HR experience (Coordinator- Higher Ed). Need some advice. During May of 2021 an operations manager and an hourly Hr employee started a relationship while the ops manager was married. We had supervisors give us pictures of those two kissing at workFast forward they are now engaged and getting married. The HR worker does not work here anymore since July 2021. Is it too late to investigate the ops manager for misconduct ? The ops manager has worked here for 15 years and is super valuable, the operation literally can not run without him.

Can a company find out if you start to work for another company? Also, is it really a conflict of interest if you work for both companies in the same position, but the companies are in a different field (e.g. pharmaceutical and social media)?

I am looking to make a career change to HR. I currently make 75K as a sales and development coach. I had a recent offer for a state government position in a talent acquisition role but I’d be taking a $25K pay cut. I am extremely over qualified for the position but it could possibly be a stepping stone and gives me the time to acquire SHRM certifications and possibly start taking classes to get my MBA. My question is those currently in an HR role, would this move make sense to you?
