Great practice working to further charitable missions of our clients. Good WLB (1300 hour billable requirement). Opportunity for the right person to work remotely. I have an offer from Mercer to join as module lead with 12.5 fix CTC and annual incentive plan which is not clearly mentioned in offer letter. My joining date is 31st October so as per company policy anyone joining after 1st oct won't be eligible for appraisal cycle nor for annual incentive plan..which makes my package 12.5 lacs for next one and a half year.
Not sure if it would be a wise decision, current CTC is 9.08 lacs Mercer

Don’t. Implementation coach is also a second class citizen here
This. If you're not a generalist at McK you are a second class citizen. Always.
I’d say there’s a difference between saying a role can be on partner track and how many implementation coaches have been elected partner. I think the role is designed around sprints/6sigma/agile project management.
If you want to be a strategy consultant with a solid path to partner, you’re probably better off holding out for a lateral to an associate role(or equivalent at BCG or Bain) than trying to transfer after joining. If you’re taking a pay cut…that makes holding out for the right job an even easier decision.
I agree w McK 3 comment here about the probability of promotion to partner. I've heard promises like this before in interviews. Cognizant recruiter went back and forth on this a few times. She first said 2 yr for promotion on one call. Then upgraded to "fast track" on another call. Then on third call I asked her to quantify fast track and she said 2 to 3yr lol. I'd take statements like this with a grain of salt.
I wouldn’t
I wouldn’t take a 30 percent cut to join any company. Some of y’all really act like you aren’t just a cog in the machine lol
Going from $230 to $200? I don’t think that’s terrible.
No seriously, while on this thread would like referral for EY, McKinsey, Deloitte, KPMG or Accenture. YOE: 22 TC: 210k
Don’t do it unless you have a supremely clear plan of what you’re trying to get out of it
- from someone who did it
What's ur gut say?
No. It’s Mck. They bill you out at very high rates, they can afford to match your current salary, if not beat it, gtfoh.
Everyone makes almost the same at every level at McK. Doesn’t work that way.

30% pay cut for more working hours ? No thanks
30% pay cut means you need ~43% in raises just to get back to where you are now.
1.5 - 2 years tenure is needed before you become eligible for an internal transfer. Also, they might make you go through the entire recruitment cycle for a transfer to Associate role. On top of all, a 30% pay cut!? I wouldn't recommend it.
30% is steeep however most CEOs come from McKinsey sooooo good upside
Are those folks implementation coaches while at McK?
Considering the economy, it will take you longer to get back to your current salary than it would be to utilize what experience you have to find a better job
not worth it
Please learn the proper use of "a" vs. "an" before you get hired by McKinsey. Your offer might increase.
Haha hahahaha hahahahahaha hahahahahahaha
A 30% pay cut is NEVER 👎🏽 worth it
I won’t take it!
It sounds like you’re also lucky with your current comp plus economy has been at its best; the 30% drop sounds like a lot but maybe factoring those things in, it’s somewhat less
What would you want to do in the longer run?
Are you at least a bit excited about working as a consultant?
So when everyone is saying ‘Total comp’ what are they including? Base + bonus? Bc although nice to have ins etc I really don’t look at that as ‘comp’
