Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

Don’t. Implementation coach is also a second class citizen here
This. If you're not a generalist at McK you are a second class citizen. Always.
I’d say there’s a difference between saying a role can be on partner track and how many implementation coaches have been elected partner. I think the role is designed around sprints/6sigma/agile project management.
If you want to be a strategy consultant with a solid path to partner, you’re probably better off holding out for a lateral to an associate role(or equivalent at BCG or Bain) than trying to transfer after joining. If you’re taking a pay cut…that makes holding out for the right job an even easier decision.
I agree w McK 3 comment here about the probability of promotion to partner. I've heard promises like this before in interviews. Cognizant recruiter went back and forth on this a few times. She first said 2 yr for promotion on one call. Then upgraded to "fast track" on another call. Then on third call I asked her to quantify fast track and she said 2 to 3yr lol. I'd take statements like this with a grain of salt.
I would take a pay cut to not have to work at McKinsey
lol no
Do you currently work in tech? Seems like high TC compared to YOE
Yes sort of but not as a SWE, which means my TC caps much sooner than others in the field
Nah, sounds like a trap. Unless you really want to get out of your current situation, then that is a different story.
Naahhh
Nope
No.
Hell nah!
NOPE
This has got to be a joke right?
How will you say no to them while keeping your future options open with them?
Go for it . You can double your salary in consulting in 4 years while many are stagnant in industry
I would never take a 30% pay cut unless it meant absolutely zero travel lol. Especially going from 200k to 140k.
I currently work in ERP implementations, is McKinsey hiring implementation roles with 2-3 years of experience?
Depends what your goals are. Do you want to go into management consulting or are you already in? Are you a SWE or a PE? Could you get hired at Bain or BCG as an Associate? If you can’t get hired as a generalist but want a a way in the door for a long term goal, go for it.
Taking a pay cut to work more is NUTS
No
What is your currently role SWE or PM?
Why would they low ball you in this market
Would you take a pay cut to be PMO?
Rising Star
I’d personally stay in your current position for another year then apply for the promotion at McKinsey
