I need information about different tech. Currently I am a mainframe developer with 6+ exp currently working at Infosys and serving notice period. I have 5 offers from MNCs and 2 months of Notice period left. Want to understand, is it doable to learn other technology and switch into that technology and if it requires more time which Technology should I learn Data science or Devops. Just accepted an offer with a psych startup. Not exactly the offer I was hoping for as I’m taking a slight pay cut ($73/hr) and it’s a 1099 position. I keep getting stuck on the 1099 piece because I’ll be working 40 hrs/wk, but have been told I’m not eligible to be a W2 employee. Needless to say, no benefits whatsoever. They don’t even provide a computer or any other remote equipment for the completely remote position. Am I making a mistake? Also, can anyone chime in about being a 1099 employee?
