I have received offer from Shell and SAP labs is in final stage salary discussion. Shell is offering 6 lacs more than @SAP labs. I have tried to negotiate a lot from SAP but they are not ready. They are putting conditions like give your full commitment to join then only we'll release offer letter. I am currently looking for work life balance with growth. I gave 4 rounds of interview for Manager 1 but the final decision was that I am unable to raise the bar. The recruitment coordinator asked me if he can keep my details or share my details to his colleagues so that they can check if I fit in some other role in future. Yes to both. I'm bored by my work and just kind of numb to the mundanity of the day. It's not that I expected work to be exciting, because I didn't, I just didn't think it would be this mindnumbing either.
There are times when I'll have some serious misgivings about the industry in general. In a funny way it reminds me of the line about how we carry a machine in our pocket that lets us access all human knowledge, and we use it to look at cat videos and insult strangers. I remind myself that what people do with what we create is largely a matter of their own personal choices.

Test tech in electronics here and I feel opposite to this post. Been working since July of this year and already taking part in RND testing.
