No, I’m not against it but technically your placenta filters out all of the ‘bad stuff’ for the baby and they have found microplastics in it so I don’t see a benefit to consume it. The only reasons animals do it is because it can attract prey. I might bury it in my garden and plant a tree or something though!
My wife did. Her doula personally knew a few people that encapsulated locally as the birthing services community is pretty tight knit.
She was interested bc she felt really susceptible to PPD and figured there was no risk in such a straightforward hormonal aid. Her review on it would be that it worked for the first baby, but not our second.
Imo, it probably didn't do anything, but it certainly didn't hurt either. You should do it if you think it would be helpful for you.
