I would strongly suggest that you have your resume checked to make sure that it can get through the AI / ATS that companies use to filter applications with keywords and key phrases that the company is looking for with the role(s).
I would STRONGLY suggest getting away from LinkedIn as well as that is becoming a cesspool for scams and fake jobs.
I would apply on both job boards and company websites with a stronger focus on company websites as not every job board automatically sends your application to the company's ATS hence they have to remember to check the job board applications and manually bring them on over to their company's ATS.
Are you being strategic with your applications or are you just doing the "spray and pray approach"?
Remember the job market is bad with THOUSANDS of people out of work and many more soon to be laid off, the global economy is bad (we were still working towards improving after 9/11, and then the Great Recession AND COVID hit before MAGA and DOGE got involved), and the political climate is bad.
Good luck to you.
. Applicant Tracking System (HR/Recruiting) – Software employers use to collect, organize, and screen job applications and resumes. This is the most common meaning in job searches.
* Example: “Make sure your resume is ATS-friendly.”
Here are the main reasons:
* Prevents formatting problems. Complex layouts, text boxes, graphics, tables, columns, and unusual fonts can sometimes confuse ATS software and cause information to be missed.
* Improves keyword matching. Employers often search for specific skills or job titles. Using relevant keywords from the job posting can help your resume appear in those searches.
* Makes your experience easier to find. Standard headings such as “Work Experience,” “Education,” and “Skills” help the system categorize your information correctly.
* Increases the chances a human sees it. If the ATS can accurately read your resume, the hiring manager is more likely to receive a complete picture of your qualifications.
I should talk because I haven’t gotten hired yet but you mentioned “cold applying” I’ve gone in person, walking my resume into places. Also, if you’ve used chat GPT to help with your resume, it makes it so that your resume gets past ATS. It’ll suggest that chat gpt can make it “ATS friendly “
You’re welcome🙂 I too used Ai to help write mine(Chat GPT ) Mine came out to be only two, but that’s because I only have the skills I had when working in my parents office and I worked for them straight out of high school until their retirement.
Same as me brother. I have since September from last year and its been so hard trying to get hired online. I have applied all over the places and nothing has come up.
It has worked for me before, but the jobs I landed in that instance were genuinely awful. So it can work but the quality of roles maybe isn’t what you’d want.

Same with me as well sending million cv s no reply
Welcome to the club 😩
I have the job I'm in now from cold applying. I sent out about 50 apps. Open admin jobs are more plentiful where I am though too. I interviewed with two companies, and I received one job offer within 8 months time.

I wouldn’t say it’s dead, but it sure is harder. I would work on making sure both your resume and LinkedIn profile have the best keywords for the roles you’re looking at. I made those adjustments and the next day I had 3 messages from recruiters.
