Is it a bad time to move into consulting? I got an offer from a pretty good firm but I'm also seeing a lot of gloom and doom about the industry's future. If you guys were in my place, would you jump in or jump ship?

Am I the only one frustrated w what’s going on w the state and what’s been taken away. It’s as if I’m taking home less than I did 5 years ago and on paper I’m technically making more. It’s sad.

I work as a Solution Specialist (sales rep) at an Authorizer Verizon retailer. Phone/wireless sales is not something I want to do forever. I have 4 years mobile sales experience and 3 additional years of niche sales/ customer service experience. I’m feeling stuck and every career/job move fells it is a step backwards. Started at a big firm in July with high hopes- in the career path I wanted and I would be joining with other new grads.
After onboarding, it’s as if my team forgets about us every day. The training is non existent, there doesn’t seem to be any initiative to invest in new hires, my manager scolds me for not knowing enough yet gives no direction. I don’t want to waste time (colleagues mentioned it doesn’t get much better from here). Do I embrace the suck or look for other opportunities?
