Definitely in person
It depends in what your selling!
Context is king, so the short answer is, it depends.
It depends on who you are selling to (I.e farmers vs other SaaS vendors)
It depends on the cultural region you are selling into (Brazil vs US)
It depends on how old school your prospect or industry might be (big pharma vs small start up in hyper growth)
100% agreed.
The original question is so completely devoid of context.
What industry? What geographical region? B2C? B2B? B2G? Are you selling a commodity? A complex software solution? Physical goods? Professional services? Regulated vs unregulated? Average sales cycle? Above or below discretionary spending thresholds? How much experience does the rep have? Etc etc.
Has changed A LOT. People don’t interact in person as much. It’s strange how you can now stand out by saying Hi to someone even in just life. On the phone you are just another voice, zoom same, so you have to utilize a lot more avenues when not in person. I just think how much I don’t pick up the phone anymore unless I know who it is.
In person unless you have a skill for cold calling
It depends what your selling.
I prefer phone.
If you in person dress and present yourself and have charm you will do great
