Not in Houston (joined the bowl to reply, saw since you tagged MQ). Wouldn't say getting in is hard, culture is good but WLB could be better. Typical interview process is a phone screen, round 1, psychometric test, round 2, offer etc.
Healthcare is Aetna, lowest plan gets HSA contributions from MQ of $750 no vesting period fully yours once it's in. They also have those health initiatives where you can say you journaled or watch some videos for lower plan prices next year and a $200 wellness reimbursement.
PTO is 25 vacation days, 7 sick days, 1 wellbeing ("mental health") day, all NYSE holidays, 20 weeks parental leave eligible day 1 of employment if you are going to be the primary caregiver with 12 transition days to be used in the 2 months after returning to work (6 weeks if secondary caregiver).
Frequent office happy hours, lunch catered in our office frequently, hybrid work schedule unfortunately no perm wfh. But in office is a good vibe, opportunities to travel or transfer within US or abroad but not mandatory, very horizontal structure when it comes to management. Unfortunately can be vague with paths to promo and future plans. I am not in HTX/the team you're looking at but i do have kind of bleh WLB, i only work 2 weekends a year but do regularly go to 7-8pm and semi regularly 10-11 with the once a month or so midnight+
