Technical interviews are going to assess your ability to solve technical problems. The things you get asked vary by what your level of experience is (e.g. we don't ask new grads system design questions). We want to see that you can code in some language, and can think through a technical problem.
A good question can scale to the capability of the interviewee. So if someone struggles, they don't just sit their silent for half an hour but can make progress, and if they're awesome they can cruise through more and more complex variations of the problem and show us that.
There's also a description directly from Google that I think is pretty reasonable.

I interviewed with them! Are you currently on the initial coding interview or the virtual onsite?
I'd expect a LC medium question for the initial interview. Don't sweat it, the interviewer was super friendly and helpful when I was stuck :) I think typically also they're a bit less picky with that initial interview -- they basically just want to decide if there's any chance you'll do well in the next round.
Depends on the team in terms of the remote. If you are interviewing for a software engineering role, you will will have coding interviews and possibly one to 2 system design interviews.
I’ve only had a phone screen with a recruiter and haven’t scheduled the initial technical interview yet because I heard that the difficulty for the technical phone screen is the same as the on-site.
