Is it just me, or is it frustrating how internships in Ireland—especially in smaller towns—depend so much on connections? I do my best at college, work in cleaning or retail since the start of the course (morning to afternoon), and still deliver everything on time. Meanwhile, classmates with relatives in the field already have internships. It’s discouraging to invest so much time and energy with nothing in return…

My company (biotech start up >50 employees) are looking to collect diversity data about current employees to provide to candidates when they ask about the company as well as to investors. Any thoughts on whether this is industry standard? What roadblocks to be aware of? Advice on how to go about this as meaningfully as possible?
